Artist Infomation

박성민의 일명 ‘아이스 캡슐(Ice Capsule)’ 시리즈는 다양한 의미를 띠고 있다. 우선 작가가 주목하고 있는 것은 ‘물질의 원성’이다. 물질은 보통 삼태(三態, 기제-액체-고체)의 순환으로 구성되어 있는데, 박성민은 이러한 물질의 고유한 성질에 우리의 행동양식을 은유적으로 암시하는 것으로 보인다. 가령 ‘액체는 유기적인 사고, 고체는 고정된 기억, 기체는 망각의 존재성’ 등으로 말이다.그런데 그의 작품을 가만히 들여다보면 하나의 공통점을 쉽게 발견할 수 있다. 바로 작품의 근간을 이루는 기본요소가 ‘물(水)’이라는 점이다. 얼음덩어리, 물방울, 바다 혹은 시냇물 배경 등은 모두 물이 변화된 형태이다. 바로 이 물은 그에게 주요 관심사인 ‘물질의 삼태’를 한 몸으로 가장 적절하게 묘사할 수 있는 최적의 물질인 것이다. 그래서 박성민에게 있어 물은 곧 물질(物質)의 표상이 되고 있다.

Objects purchased in online auctions must be collected in person. Shipping may be requested if in-person collection is not possible. Shipping fees will be charged as below.

Additional fees may apply for unique delivery circumstances such as no-elevator (walk-up) buildings, ladder truck requirements, etc.

Parcel delivery is only available for select items at a fee of KRW 5,000 (KRW 10,000 for remote regions or Jeju Island.) Parcel delivery may not be available depending on the weight and value of item(s).
Luxury goods and musical instruments must be collected in person.
For in-person pickups, please contact your specialist by 5 pm of the day before to reserve pickup. (For weekends and holidays, pickup must be reserved by Friday or the last prior business day.)

- Prior appointment is mandatory for in-person collection.
- Standard passenger vehicles can accommodate artworks up to 90x120cm. Please take the measurements of your vehicle and the artwork into consideration.

Storage

A storage fee of KRW 30,000 per day will be charged for each lot that has not been collected 7 calendar days after purchase, regardless of whether the purchase price has been rendered in full.
