Artist Infomation

임직순은 1940년 일본미술학교 유학과에 입학하면서 당시 일본 화단에 야수파의 대표적인 화가로 잘 알려진 하야시 다케시(林武)와 타카노 미사미(高野眞實)에게 교육을 받으며 1942년까지 동경을 중심으로 활동하였다. 한국으로 돌아온 이후에는 미술교육자와 작가로서 활동하였으며, 1956년 국전에서 작품 '좌상'으로 대통령상을 수상하며 최고의 영광과 유명을 누리게 되었다. 그의 작품에서는 주로 인물, 여인과 꽃 그리고 풍경으로 나눠지며 작품의 모티브를 풀어내는 방식은 전형적인 인상파 화풍이다. 풍부한 색채 감각은 필치의 무게감, 생동감과 함께 충만하게 드러나며 이를 통해 우러나는 즉흥적인 분위기가 화폭 위에 적절하게 표현된다. 그는 오지호, 강연균, 최쌍중과 같이 호남 지역의 작가들과도 지속적으로 교류하며 작업 활동을 넓혀왔다. 미술평론가 이구열은 '임직순의 독특한 유화 맛은 충실한 구도, 자유롭고 능란한 붓놀림에서 나온다'면서 그의 예술 세계를 높게 평가하기도 하였다.

Objects purchased in online auctions must be collected in person. Shipping may be requested if in-person collection is not possible. Shipping fees will be charged as below.

Additional fees may apply for unique delivery circumstances such as no-elevator (walk-up) buildings, ladder truck requirements, etc.

Parcel delivery is only available for select items at a fee of KRW 5,000 (KRW 10,000 for remote regions or Jeju Island.) Parcel delivery may not be available depending on the weight and value of item(s).
Luxury goods and musical instruments must be collected in person.
For in-person pickups, please contact your specialist by 5 pm of the day before to reserve pickup. (For weekends and holidays, pickup must be reserved by Friday or the last prior business day.)

- Prior appointment is mandatory for in-person collection.
- Standard passenger vehicles can accommodate artworks up to 90x120cm. Please take the measurements of your vehicle and the artwork into consideration.

A storage fee of KRW 30,000 per day will be charged for each lot that has not been collected 7 calendar days after purchase, regardless of whether the purchase price has been rendered in full.
