“사람들은 나의 그림에서 색채가 매우 절제되었다고 말한다. 팔레트에 짜놓은 원색 물감을 보면 왠지 거부감을 느낀다. 무섭기조차 할 때도 있다. 어떻게 해서든지 이것들을 반죽해서 나의 톤을 만든다.” 권옥연의 그림은 구상에서 추상에 이르기까지 시기에 따라 다양하게 변화했지만, 그의 특징적인 색채는 일관적이다. 차가우면서도 차분한 색채는 은밀하게 감흥을 불러일으키며, 보는 이들을 심연으로 가라앉게 하는 매력이 있다. 그의 개성적 색채는 무엇보다도 우수에 젖은 인물화에서 빛나는데, 이러한 특징이 두드러지는 시리즈는 소녀상이다. 무표정하면서도 울음과 웃음의 모호한 경계에 있는 소녀의 표정은 청회색 톤의 색감으로 인해 더욱 매혹적으로 보인다. 그의 소녀상은 근대화, 서구화를 추구했던 당대의 수요와 맞물려 미술애호가들에게 큰 인기를 얻어 선호되며 큰 인기를 구가했다. 1950-60년대 한국 미술계가 국전 풍의 정물과 인물 좌상 중심이었다면, 1960-70년대는 근대화와 서구화를 추구하던 시기였다. 청회색톤으로 물든 살들, 시선을 피하고 내면을 응시하는 무표정한 소녀들은 현대 서구의 여성상을 반영한 듯하다. 전통적인 여인상과 대조적인 그녀들을 통해 도시의 정적, 불안, 군중 속의 고독을 느낄 수 있다. 이러한 소녀상은 당대의 수요와 맞물려 미술애호가들에게 큰 인기를 얻었으며 여전히 선호되는 이미지 중 하나이다.

Additional fees may apply for unique delivery circumstances such as no-elevator (walk-up) buildings, ladder truck requirements, etc.

Parcel delivery is only available for select items at a fee of KRW 5,000 (KRW 10,000 for remote regions or Jeju Island.) Parcel delivery may not be available depending on the weight and value of item(s).
Luxury goods and musical instruments must be collected in person.
For in-person pickups, please contact your specialist by 5 pm of the day before to reserve pickup. (For weekends and holidays, pickup must be reserved by Friday or the last prior business day.)

A storage fee of KRW 30,000 per day will be charged for each lot that has not been collected 7 calendar days after purchase, regardless of whether the purchase price has been rendered in full.
