Introduction to Offline Auction

Seoul Auction

Conducted six times a year (bimonthly), our major auctions offer a variety of Korean and international Modern and Contemporary art and antiques.

Hong Kong Auction

Conducted regularly throughout the year, our Hong Kong auctions are curated for discerning international collectors in search of both Korean and international Modern and Contemporary art.

Special Auction

Further to our auction calendar, we also offer various thematic auctions including large-scale paintings, special collections, prints and charity auctions.

02.Registering
     to Bid

We recommend bidders to register at least 30 minutes before the auction. Prospective buyers must complete and sign a registration form with their details and provide a form of identification. We may further require bank details from which payment will be made or other financial references as a condition of bidding at K Auction.

03.Bidding

Bidding in person

To bid in person, bidders need to register and collect a bidding paddle before the auction begins. All bidders shall be held personally and solely liable for all obligations arising from any bid including both telephone and written bids. Through the act of bidding, it is assumed that the bidder accepts all the terms and conditions of buying at K Auction.

Written Bidding

For the convenience of clients who cannot attend an auction, K Auction will accept written bids. K Auction will execute your bid(s) in increments and attempt to purchase the lot for you at the lowest price. Written bids must be submitted at least 24 hours before the auction. Please refer to the catalogue for the Written Bidding Form.
K Auction will do its utmost to carry out bidding instructions for written bidders. However, K Auction shall not be held responsible for any failure to do so or delay in doing so, or for any error and/or omission by K Auction.

Telephone Bidding

If you prefer to bid by phone we can arrange a K Auction staff member to contact you and bid on your behalf. Please refer to the catalogue for the Written Bidding Form.

Priority of Bids

Please note that in the event that an in-person bid, written and telephone bid are made at the same price priority is given in the order of written bid, in-person bid and telephone bid.

04.After
     the Sale

Straight after a lot is sold, the respective bidder must confirm their purchase by signing a bidding confirmation form. Once the auction is over a bidding result summary will be sent to the successful bidder via fax or e-mail. The buyer must make full payment for the purchased good(s) within 7 days of the auction date. For more details, please refer to our terms and conditions.

06.Buyer's
     Premium

SEOUL

For successful bids, a buyer’s premium of 15% will be applied to the hammer price. VAT will also be applied to those who are currently residing in South Korea.

Hong Kong

For successful bids, a buyer’s premium of 18% will be applied to the hammer price. VAT will also be applied to those who are currently residing in South Korea.
