Introduction to Offline Auction

Major Auction

Our Major Auctions feature masterpieces by modern and contemporary Korean and international artists, as well as a wide array of Korean traditional art including ink paintings, ceramics, calligraphy, craft, and Buddhist art. Major auctions take place bimonthly and in person and generally involve our most prestigious lots.

LiveOn Auction

LiveOn Auction: A New Beginning introduces a reimagined auction for the new era. Featuring works from contemporary masters as well as international artists pushing the boundaries of art, our auction will offer opportunities for new and established collectors from all around the globe.
Conducted entirely from Seoul, the auction will be live-streamed in real time, allowing viewers to follow each lot. Bidders will be able to participate via telephone, absentee, or online live-bidding, free from limitations of time or location. Bidding registration is available through our website.

to Bid

Registering to Bid

We recommend bidders to register at least 30 minutes before the auction. Prospective buyers must complete and sign a registration form with their details and provide a form of identification. We may further require bank details from which payment will be made or other financial references as a condition of bidding at K Auction.

Bidding is available in four ways: absentee, saleroom, telephone, or online live-bidding. If two or more bids are received for the same amount, absentee bids will take priority.

Absentee bids

If you have registered an absentee bid with a selected lot and maximum bid price, a K Auction specialist will bid on your behalf against other bidders on the day of the auction up to the maximum bid price. If two or more absentee bids for the same amount are received, the bid first received by K Auction will take priority.

Saleroom bidding

You can register in advance for saleroom bidding. On the day of the auction, you can collect a paddle on-site to join the auction and bid in person.

Telephone bidding

You can register in advance for telephone bidding. A K Auction specialist will call you during the auction to bid on your behalf in the saleroom.

Online live-bidding

You can register in advance for online live-bidding to receive a paddle number. On the day of the auction, you can access the live-bidding page to bid in real time by clicking the “Place Bid” button while watching a live stream of the auction

Absentee and telephone bidding registration is open until 3 pm KST on the day of the auction. You can register online through our website or by filling out the bidding registration form (located at the end of our sale catalogue and in our exhibition spaces).

All bids are considered to have been placed after you have viewed the lot in person. We recommend that you inspect the condition of each lot during the auction preview before bidding.

All bids are final and cannot be retracted. Please note that bids submitted through online live-bidding are accepted immediately upon clicking the “Place Bid” button and cannot be retracted under any circumstances.
